EURid will continue its Covid-19-related domain name checks
Due to the ongoing pandemic, the European Commission has invited us to prolong the Covid-related newly registered domain name checks until 31 December 2021. The initial measures for these checks were set in early April 2020 in order to protect end-users from possible misuse of domain names.
Our APEWS platform, containing the Covid-19 related keywords, will scan all new .eu registrations with the purpose of preventing the registration of suspicious domain names.
Registrants of domain names containing detected keywords will be required to validate their data and to submit a statement confirming their domain name was registered in ‘good faith’. Should you receive an email from EURid with a validation request, please consult this information to learn more about the expected actions.
