How to register a domain name
Check if your domain name is available
Any person, company or organisation based in the European Union, Iceland, Norway or Liechtenstein can register a domain name under .eu or .ею (Cyrillic script).
Domain names are available on a first-come, first-served basis. The domain name might not be available because:
- The domain has already been registered by someone else.
- The European institutions, EU Member States, EU Candidate or Members of the EEA have blocked or reserved the domain name.
Tips for choosing your domain
Your domain name should be pronounceable and memorable, limit the length to two or three words.
If the domain name you want has been reserved, you can apply for its release by submitting an application. You can also use the same domain name with hyphens, or shorten it to an acronym.
Get your domain name in any official EU language (Internationalised domain names).
