.eu meets the Internet industry in Poland and Sweden
Brussels, 18 October 2012 – The .eu registry EURid is sponsoring two Internet industry conferences in October to raise awareness of .eu across the European Union - the Secure 2012 Conference in Warsaw, Poland (22-24 October) and Internet Days in Stockholm, Sweden (22-24 October).
IT security is the topic of this year’s Secure 2012 Conference and .eu staff will be available at EURid’s exhibition stand to answer questions how the .eu top-level domain contributes to online safety and to discuss the benefits of being online with .eu. In Poland, .eu registrations grew by 15.6% in the year to Q2 2012 and there are currently more than 243 000 .eu domain names registered to Polish businesses, organisations and individuals.
Internet Days is an important meeting place for everyone involved with the Internet in Sweden and is organised the .se registry, the Swedish Internet Infrastructure Foundation (IIS). IIS is a member of EURid and sits on the .eu registry’s Strategic Committee. In addition to being an event sponsor, EURid is exhibiting at stand 5. There are currently more than 69 000 .eu registrations in Sweden.
