Our participation in CodeWeek 2018
For the third year running, we are happily participating in CodeWeek! Aiming to make a beneficial impact to today’s youth, we will build upon last year’s efforts with even more workshops and interactive sessions for children to take part in, all in an effort to teach them the fundamentals of coding and programming.
“As we live in an increasingly digital world, we realize the huge impact that coding and programming has, and will have, on today’s youth moving forward,” comments Giovanni Seppia, EURid’s External Relations Manager. “Through CodeWeek, we have the opportunity to educate, empower, and prepare youth by providing a foundation of skills and knowledge that will add value to their growth and development.”
Our participation in CodeWeek 2018 includes several workshops such as:
- Two half day sessions with both basic and advanced programming sessions and coding presentations for high school students at the European Gravitational Observatory in Pisa
- A full day workshop divided into two sessions on robotic programming for elementary school students at the Solna Public Library in Sweden
- Two half day sessions on programming with Baltie or SketchUp in addition to Lego MINDSTORM robots for both elementary and high school students at the National Technical Library in Prague
- Three Scratch workshops for elementary school students at Vrije Basisschool – Voorzieningheid in Brussels in addition the sponsorship of 10 Scratch workshops in 5 different schools around Belgium.
CodeWeek 2018 will take place from 6 – 21 October 2018. Follow EURid’s CodeWeek journey through Twitter (@EUregistry) and Facebook (@EUregistry), using the hashtag #CodeWeekEU.
