EURid at Codeweek: fifth year running!
EURid is set to hold several different workshops in four countries during the CodeWeek 2020 to introduce European youth to the world of programming.
We are proud to be part of the Codeweek initiative for the fifth year in a row. We aim to make a beneficial impact on today’s youth while teaching them the fundamentals of coding, programming, and robotics.
“We believe it to be our responsibility to help our youth to move from passive recipients to active creators, to empower them to better understand the backstage of the digital universe so that they can use such knowledge for their personal growth”, comments Regina Filipová Fuchsová, EURid´s Regional Manager Central Europe.
Our participation in CodeWeek 2020 includes workshops in four countries:
- In Belgium, we hosted two Scratch workshops on 8 and 9 October at Basisschool Voorzienigheid and Sint- Jozefschool, and introduced the Digitale Wolven online platform.
- In Sweden, we will host two workshops on 20 October at Vitra Frosunda school with a goal to introduce the Robotics to the children in the 4th and 5th grade.
- In Italy, we will organise an online webinar for Vincenzo Galilei middle school in Pisa, on 22 October.
- In Czech Republic, we have planned four half-days of programming and robotic workshops for kids in fourth and fifth grades. Due to the current emergency situation in the country, the initiative will be postponed for November or December.
CodeWeek 2020 will take place from 10 – 25 October 2020.
