The first quarter of 2025 marked another active period for EURid, with important developments that reflect our ongoing commitment to security, innovation, and community.
In February, EURid proudly supported Safer Internet Day, continuing our efforts to promote a safer digital environment across Europe. Building on our 2024 efforts, we identified and addressed over 23,500 suspicious .eu domain name registrations, taking proactive measures to prevent potential misuse. These actions reinforce our dedication to protecting the integrity of the .eu domain name space.
In March, we took part in CloudFest 2025, the world’s leading internet infrastructure event, held in Rust, Germany. As part of the event, EURid hosted its much-anticipated Registrar Dinner at Eatrenalin, welcoming over 80 registrar representatives for an evening of networking and a unique dining experience.
A major highlight of the quarter was the launch of the refreshed eurid.eu website. Developed entirely within the European Union, the new site brings several user-centric improvements, including:
With content available in all 24 official EU languages, the redesigned platform supports EURid’s mission to connect with and serve a diverse European audience more clearly and effectively. From a statistical perspective, there are currently 3,729,245 .eu domain names registered, including 37,286 IDN registrations, with a strong renewal rate of 80%. Germany, the Netherlands, and France continue to lead in terms of total registrations.
