Welcome to My .eu

Use My .eu – one tool to oversee all your .eu, .ею and .ευ domain names.

Want a quick look at all your domain names?

Have you registered several .eu domain names with different email addresses and/or registrars? We’ve got you covered with our linking functionality.

On the My .eu platform, you can access all your .eu, .ею and .ευ domain names. Our system automatically groups domains registered with identical registration data. Additionally, if you registered domains with different registrars or email addresses (but still under your name and postal address), you can link them yourself in My .eu. This enables you to monitor their status, DNSQuality score and registrar details, as well as apply successful verification of your registration data to all linked domains.

Want to verify your registration data?

To ensure compliance with our eligibility rules and combat fraudulent registrations, we request domain holders to verify their registration data. You can do this in three simple steps.

According to our Terms and Conditions, you, as a domain holder, must keep your registration data accurate, complete, and up-to-date at all times. This helps create a safer and more trustworthy internet space for everyone. To ensure this, we ask you to verify your registration data through a simple three-step process using one of the suggested automated verification methods.

Three-step process

  1. You receive a request via email to verify your registration data through the My .eu platform, or you can start the verification process yourself via My .eu. You may obtain an access code (valid for two hours) at https://my.eurid.eu.
    If the holder is a legal entity, the verification can be done by the entity’s official representative.
  2. Upon logging in to My .eu, you should review your registration data. If corrections are needed, you must contact your registrar, as they are the only party that can update it. Only when you are sure that the data is accurate should you select a verification method from those available.
  3. If your evidence matches the registration data, the domain name is activated. If not, EURid will check and verify the registration manually.

Automated verification methods

To expedite the verification process and lighten the administrative burden, you can choose from several automated verification methods on the My .eu platform. Please note that not all methods are available in all EU and EEA countries.

Verification via electronic identity card (eID)

If you have an electronic identity card, you can verify your registration details with eIDAS (electronic Identification, Authentication and Trust Services).

Electronic identity cards are quickly becoming the standard within the European Union thanks to eIDAS, which ensure that people and businesses can use their own national electronic identification (eIDs) to access online services in all EU member states.

As member states gradually introduce electronic identity schemes with sufficient levels of assurance, we will continue to integrate them into our systems.

Verification via MRZ scan and SMS

Most official identity or travel documents contain a Machine-Readable Zone (MRZ) with encoded information relating to personal data (such as full name, country of citizenship and document number). You first enter your mobile phone number and receive a text message containing a unique link. This link opens a newly developed application that guides you through the process of scanning the Machine-Readable Zone of your identity document. No data leaves the mobile phone until you have confirmed it. This verification method is supported in all 24 official languages of the European Union.

Verification via bank transfers

You can choose between sending or receiving a small bank payment.

You can transfer a small amount (less than one euro) directly to a EURid bank account. The bank transfer must include a 10-character code that starts and ends with “EU”, with six digits in between (EUXXXXXXEU), indicated when selecting this method. As soon as the payment is received, EURid will compare the data from the bank account holder with the domain holder’s information. If the information matches, your registration will be verified.

You can receive a small bank payment (less than one euro) from EURid, which includes a 10-character code that starts and ends with “EU”, with six digits in between (EUXXXXXXEU). After receiving this payment, the domain holder logs in to the My .eu platform and enters the code to verify their registration data.

Verification via credit card

You can use your credit card to verify your registration data. EURid will not reserve any funds or charge the card, and no transaction will appear on the credit card statement.

Want to transfer your domain name?

Transferring your domain name to a new registrar and/or to a new holder is simple – just provide them with a transfer authorisation code.

The transfer authorisation code (TAC) is a 16-character code, formatted as XXXX-AAAA-BBBB-CCCC, valid for 40 days or until used. It is issued by your registrar, which you can identify via a WHOIS lookup of your domain name. If necessary, you can generate the TAC yourself through the My .eu platform. In cases where neither method works, an emergency TAC can be requested from EURid by filling out and sending a dedicated form, which you can find in the WHOIS lookup. For more detailed information on obtaining a transfer authorisation code, please consult our dedicated article in the Help/Support Centre.

Please note that transferring a suspended domain name to another registrar is prohibited, except in cases described in EURid’s Registration Data Verification Policy.

Your current registrar handles updates to domain holders and domain transfers to new holders. If changing both the registrar and the domain holder, the TAC must be forwarded to the new holder’s registrar. For more detailed information on who handles the transfer, please consult our dedicated article in the Support Centre.

Special procedures apply for domains that are blocked, reserved, under dispute, or locked. These require direct contact with EURid for assistance. Additionally, if a registrar’s accreditation ends, EURid will guide the transfer to a new registrar to prevent the domain from being deleted. For more detailed information on who handles the transfer, please consult our dedicated article in the Support Centre.

Want to check if your domain name is enhancing your online visibility?

The DNSQuality score developed by EURid visually reflects the quality of the DNS (Domain Name System) setup of your domain name. It shows whether the services linked to your domain names are reachable and secure, and you can check it at any time.

You can look up the DNSQuality scores of your domain names on the My .eu platform.

EURid performs weekly technical checks on every active domain name, calculating a new DNSQuality Score each week via a sequence of tests. These tests are performed for every domain name which has at least one linked name server and an “In Use” status. Each test conducted allocates a certain number of points, and the total number of points is calculated into a DNSQuality score expressed as a percentage. Tests include:

  • Whether a domain name is reachable over IPv4 and IPv6;
  • Whether all of the name servers linked to the domain name are responsive;
  • Whether the domain name is enabled with Domain Name Security Extensions (DNSSEC).

Why is it so important that the DNS is configured correctly?

  • So that the services linked to your domain names will always be reachable (i.e. website, email address);
  • So that the services linked to your domain names will function with higher security.
  • For a full list of the tests, and for more information about the DNSQuality Score, please refer to our dedicated article in the Support Centre.
