In Q4 2025, .eu recorded 193,047 new registrations, bringing the total number of registered domain names to 3,790,453 by year-end. This result continues the steady growth observed throughout the year and confirms the overall health and resilience of the .eu domain ecosystem.
Among the quarter’s key highlights was the celebration of 10 years of CodeWeek. Since its launch, EURid’s CodeWeek initiatives have reached around 4,000 children, with more than 350 students across Europe participating in workshops during 2025 alone.
EURid was also cited in the Interisle Cybercrime Supply Chain 2025 study as an example of effective preventative practice. The study highlighted EURid’s use of name-pattern checks and delayed delegation, which allow suspicious domain name requests to be reviewed before activation. These measures significantly reduce the risk of abuse and underline the impact of strong, well-implemented policies.
In addition, EURid successfully hosted a .eu Day at the European Parliament focused on Digital Sovereignty. The breakfast meeting brought together more than 90 participants and was led by MEP Ms Marina Kaljurand, with contributions from academia, the European Commission, and the European business community.
The quarter concluded with the refreshed 2025 .eu Web Awards, which announced 25 finalists and attracted a record 57,451 public votes—the highest level of engagement in the awards’ 11-year history. The five category winners were announced on 4 November:
Together, these results reflect a strong end to 2025, marked by sustained growth, community engagement, and EURid’s continued leadership in promoting a secure and vibrant European digital presence.
