Celebrating 10 years of CodeWeek: Inspiring the next generation of coders

Next week marks the start of another European CodeWeek – and a special one for us. For the tenth year in a row, EURid is proud to support this initiative that brings coding, robotics and digital skills closer to young people across Europe.

Over the past decade, we have met thousands of curious minds, sharing our knowledge and learning alongside them. Seeing children discover how the digital world works – and knowing we play a small part in inspiring their journey – remains one of the most rewarding parts of our work.

Since the beginning, EURid’s CodeWeek activities have reached around 4,000 children. This year, we continue the tradition with workshops for more than 350 students across Europe.

2025 activities include:

• Prague, Czech Republic (15 & 22 October): Python coding for 120 sixth-grade students across four classes, led by lecturers from TIB.
• Gafanha da Encarnação, Portugal (15 October): Two coding sessions introducing 82 students to programming fundamentals.
• Pisa, Italy (17 October): Presentation on the history of coding and the Internet, followed by a guided visit to the Museo del Calcolo for 33 students.
• Stockholm, Sweden (15 & 16 October): Interactive Internet and robotics workshops with Arduino for 120 students, in cooperation with Solna Library, Kosmosklubben, and the International English School.

CodeWeek’s message is simple: learning to code helps us understand and shape the rapidly changing world around us. At EURid, we share this vision – to keep learning, stay inspired, stay engaged, and be part of the community driving Europe’s digital future.
