EURid renews MoU with Scamadviser and GASA

We are pleased to announce that EURid, the registry manager of the .eu TLD has renewed the Memorandum of Understanding with Scamadviser and Global Anti Scam Alliance (GASA) and applied for an official membership in their new phase. These partnerships evolved to support our common fight against online abuse and they have served us well in our never-ending efforts to improve the trust and quality of the .eu space.

EURid has been collaborating with GASA providing intelligence for the Scamadviser search engine since 2019. Scamadviser rates websites based on trust indicators, by using an algorithm to determine if the website is legit with real reviews or a phishing website, selling fake products.

Our collaboration with GASA helps to investigate the .eu sites, which for example are allegedly selling counterfeit goods and services or pharma products that need prescription. Such domain names are shared with GASA experts who together with brand owners can determine the severity of the case, and if needed, start prosecution. Our goal is to work together to protect consumers and brands online.
