Promoting digital inclusion: EURid at EuroDIG 2025 in Strasbourg

From 12 to 14 May 2025, EURid is participating in the European Dialogue on Internet Governance (EuroDIG) in Strasbourg, France, reaffirming its long-standing involvement in shaping Europe’s digital future and supporting various internet governance organisations and initiatives. The event, hosted by the Council of Europe in cooperation with the Luxembourg Presidency of the Committee of Ministers, centres on the critical theme: “Safeguarding human rights by balancing regulation and innovation.”

As a committed contributor to EuroDIG since its early editions, EURid continues to bring its expertise and values-driven vision to this open, multi-stakeholder platform. In the 2025 edition, EURid led the session of the Dynamic Coalition on Data and Trust: Stakeholders Speak – Perspectives on Age Verification. This session addressed the risks, challenges, and alternative or complementary approaches to age verification, offering insights from a diverse range of stakeholders.

EURid’s Youth Committee also played an active role, with committee member Paulo Glowacki contributing as a speaker. Their participation highlighted EURid’s strong commitment to empowering young voices in the debate on internet governance.

Reflecting on the value of the event, Regina Filipová Fuchsová said: “With the motto ‘More than just a conference’, EuroDIG provides a crucial platform where diverse voices can come together to shape the policies that will define our shared digital future. Internet governance is a pillar of the digital future – one that requires continuous dialogue, collaboration, and a trusted space.”
