EURid presents streamlined procedures at Europol's Advisory Group

News18 bir 2026minutę skaitymas

On 10 June 2026, EURid participated in Europol's Advisory Group on Service Providers (AGSP), held at Europol headquarters in The Hague, the Netherlands. The regular meetings bring together Europol and key industry partners to strengthen collaboration, exchange best practices and discuss emerging cybercrime trends.

During the meeting, EURid presented a newly streamlined framework that enables cybersecurity partners and Law Enforcement Agencies (LEAs) to exchange information with EURid more efficiently. Following a comprehensive review of existing procedures, EURid consolidated and documented the available communication channels and operational workflows in a practical reference guide.

The guide, available in multiple formats including a leaflet, trifold brochure and poster, provides a clear overview of how authorised partners can:

  • Report malicious domain names.
  • Request registration data related to malicious domains.
  • Request the immediate suspension of domain names involved in malicious activities.

Feedback from Europol and the Belgian Federal Police has been highly positive. The initiative provides a clear and consistent overview of the available procedures, helping investigators navigate operational requirements more efficiently. The material is expected to serve both as a daily reference tool and as a resource for internal training programmes across European law enforcement agencies.

The project also attracted interest from advisory group members representing other sectors, who expressed interest in receiving the materials and exploring similar approaches within their own industries.

As a next step, EURid plans to share the initiative with other top-level domain (TLD) registries. By gathering feedback and encouraging broader adoption, EURid aims to improve coordination across the domain name industry, harmonise procedures and facilitate faster cooperation between registries, cybersecurity organisations and law enforcement agencies. Ultimately, this will contribute to more efficient investigations and a stronger collective response to cybercrime.
