Update on Covid-19 related domain names checks

We would like to inform all our stakeholders that European Commission has invited us to prolong the Covid-related domain name checks until 31 March 2022. The initial measures for these checks were set in early April 2020 in order to protect end-users from possible misuse of domain names.

Our APEWS platform, containing the Covid-19 related keywords, will scan all new .eu registrations with the purpose of preventing the registration of suspicious domain names.

Registrants of domain names containing certain Covid-keywords are invited to validate their data and submit a statement confirming their domain name is registered in ‘good faith’. Should you receive an email from EURid with such validation request, please consult this information to learn more about the follow-up actions at your end.
