As part of a collaboration formalised in 2016, EURid’s General Manager, Peter Janssen, and EUIPO's Executive Director, Christian Archambeau, signed a new Memorandum of Understanding, committing to join forces in raising awareness about trademarks and domain names.
The EUIPO is the European Union Intellectual Property Office, responsible for managing the EU trademark and the registered Community design. It also works with the IP offices of EU Member States and international partners to provide a consistent registration experience for trademarks and designs across Europe and beyond.
Through this collaboration, EURid and EUIPO aim to continue empowering European companies to manage their intellectual property rights effectively and to take a stand against potential .eu domain abuse.
