EURid adds a new verification method
5 Dec. 2022
In March 2021, EURid introduced a Know-Your-Customer (KYC) project that allows domain name holders to provide evidence of their identity using speedy automated systems.
As of last week, domain name holders can use four verification methods to confirm their identity or request a Statement of Holdership. In addition to verification via MRZ scan, SMS, electronic identity card or via a bank transfer, they can now also choose to verify via a credit card.
In order for registrants to use a credit card to confirm their registration data, EURid will reserve 0.02 EUR on the card, which is unblocked at the end of the transaction. It is not a charge - the card is not billed.
Please learn more about all of the verification method via the dedicated page.
