The ICANN83 Policy Forum, held from 9 to 12 June at the Prague Congress Centre, brought together the global Internet community for four days of focused policy discussions, collaborative sessions, and meaningful engagement. As a hybrid event, it offered space for both in-person and virtual participation, with an emphasis on ongoing policy development and connecting ideas to action.
EURid was pleased to have a strong presence at the Forum, participating in a wide range of working sessions and engaging with more than 20 .eu accredited registrars from around the world. From technical discussions to industry developments, the event offered valuable opportunities to connect with peers and partners committed to building a secure, resilient, and inclusive digital environment.
A highlight of the week was co-hosting the ccNSO event alongside our colleagues at CZ.NIC, z.s.p.o. We extend our thanks to Ondrej Filip and his team for the warm collaboration and hospitality. We were also pleased to welcome visitors from the European Commission, EUIPO, and other institutional partners, whose support continues to reinforce the value of the .eu domain name.
The Forum also marked several special moments: EURid’s Industry Relations Manager, Regina Fuchsova, was acknowledged among the dedicated group of ICANN working group Chairs and Vice Chairs—a well-earned recognition of her ongoing efforts to promote universal acceptance. We also contributed to sessions organised by Smart Africa and celebrated the tenth anniversary of the Universal Acceptance Steering Group (UASG).
As always, ICANN83 reaffirmed that the future of the Internet is a shared endeavour. Collaboration across regions, institutions, and sectors remains essential to ensuring that governance and infrastructure evolve in a way that serves all users.
