EURid supports Safer Internet Day 2025
Safer Internet Day is a global initiative dedicated to promoting a safer and more secure digital space. As the registry for .eu domain names, EURid plays a key role in ensuring the security and integrity of the European internet landscape.
Through our proactive monitoring systems, we continuously scan domain registrations to detect and prevent fraudulent activity. In cases where a domain appears suspicious, we request verification from the registrant, and if the necessary information is not provided, the registration is suspended.
Collaboration is also at the heart of our efforts. We work closely with EUROPOL, INTERPOL, and Belgian authorities to strengthen the fight against cyber threats and ensure that the .eu domain remains a trusted and secure online space.
Our impact is significant—in the second half of 2024 alone, we identified 23,531 suspicious .eu domain registrations, taking proactive steps to prevent potential abuse.
As online threats continue to evolve, EURid remains committed to safeguarding the .eu domain space and supporting initiatives like Safer Internet Day to create a more secure digital future for all.
