EURid joins Global Cyber Alliance for “More Than A Password Day”
EURid is proud to collaborate with the Global Cyber Alliance for the global initiative, “More Than A Password Day,” aimed at raising awareness about the critical importance of stronger online authentication. With cyber threats at an all-time high, protecting online identities and sensitive data has never been more essential.
Recent studies highlight a concerning gap in cybersecurity practices, particularly among small and medium-sized businesses (SMBs). Nearly 60% of SMBs remain unaware of multi-factor authentication (MFA), a key security measure, and many still do not enforce MFA internally or for third-party access. As a result, millions of accounts remain vulnerable to unauthorized access and data breaches.
This year’s campaign calls on businesses, organizations, and individuals to take immediate action by adopting MFA and passwordless authentication methods, such as passkeys, which are both more secure and easier to use. EURid is committed to supporting these efforts, emphasizing that securing online accounts with MFA is a critical step in safeguarding not only systems but also user trust.
In collaboration with the Global Cyber Alliance, we encourage all organizations to reflect on their security practices, implement stronger identity governance, and ensure they are equipped to defend against evolving cyber threats. By endorsing the “Protecting Your Accounts and Devices: Common Guidance on Passwords,” a set of easy-to-follow recommendations, we aim to guide businesses and individuals toward better password management and online safety.
Join #MoreThanAPasswordDay, and together, let’s redefine online security for a safer digital world.
