Accessibility Statement
EURid is committed to ensuring digital accessibility for people with disabilities. We are continually improving the user experience for everyone, and applying the relevant accessibility standards.
Measures to support accessibility
EURid is taking the following measures to ensure the accessibility of eurid.eu:
- Continuously improving website accessibility following biennial audits (including testing by visually impaired people);
- Providing accessibility training for our staff.
Conformance status
The Web Content Accessibility Guidelines (WCAG) define the requirements for designers and developers to improve accessibility for people with disabilities. It defines three levels of conformance: Level A, Level AA, and Level AAA.
As of May 2021, eurid.eu is fully conformant with WCAG 2.1 level AA. Fully conformant means that the content fully conforms to the accessibility standard without exception.
Compatibility with browsers and assistive technology specification
The accessibility of eurid.eu relies on the following technologies to work with the particular combination of web browser and any assistive technologies or plugins installed on your computer:
• HTML • WAI-ARIA • CSS • JavaScript
The audit has demonstrated that the WAVE Chrome / Firefox extension and Chrome Accessibility Developer Tools work well with the website content as accessibility tools (although this list is not exhaustive), as well as the following screen readers: JAWS, NVDA, and VoiceOver (also not exhaustive).
Limitations and alternatives
Despite our best efforts to ensure the accessibility of our website, there may be some limitations. Please contact us if you notice an issue not listed below.
WHOIS look-up:
You can query domain names on the secure web-based WHOIS, which requires you to enter a captcha code after a few queries.
Our captcha service provides inbuilt accessibility alternatives involving cookie activation that avoids the captcha. In addition, visually impaired people can request a dedicated username and password to access this database by sending an email to [email protected].
