.eu registrations grew by 184,531 in Q1 2023
EURid released its Q1 progress report today, exhibiting a new registration growth of 184,531 domain names, which represents a 5.4% increase compared to Q1 2022, bringing the total portfolio number to 3,710,443.
This development reflects the continued popularity of .eu domain names, which is a trusted and recognizable online identity for businesses, organizations, and individuals across Europe.
The growth was led by Portugal, with a 7% net increase in the country, followed by Finland with a 2.8% increase, and Romania with a 2.0% increase.
Q1 2023 was a productive period for EURid, as the organization renewed its EMAS registration through March 2024, ensuring its continued commitment to environmental sustainability. Launched the third edition of the SAFEonLINE competition, which promotes online safety among young people across Europe. Additionally, EURid released its latest findings on .eu website categorization, highlighting the importance of accurate website classification for ensuring a safe and secure online environment.
EURid also participated in the 2023 Cloudfest in Rust, Germany, where they showcased the benefits of .eu domains for businesses and organizations. Finally, EURid marked the first-ever Universal Acceptance Day by raising awareness about the importance of UA for universal access to online resources.
