.eu and EURId as an example to follow according to the latest EC biyearly report
In the biyearly report to the European Parliament and the Council, the European Commission assessed the implementation, functioning and effectiveness of the .eu TLD. The report underlines the achievement of the .eu and its registry manager, EURid from April 2019 to April 2021. The report covers the .eu TLD performance in the overall TLD market, how the elements of trust and security have been addressed by the registry as well as the registry international engagement and environmental commitment.
The report concludes that “The focus on quality of service and the actions taken to enhance security and data quality, to mitigate abusive and speculative registrations, and to cooperate with partners in the fight against cybercrime and IP-infringing activities contributed to the EU objectives of increasing trust and security on the internet, providing an example to follow for other DNS operators”.
